ASRC Federal Holding Company Senior Principal System Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

ASRC Federal Agile Decision Sciences is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems.

We are seeking highly motivated System Engineers to support the development and sustainment of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) anti-ballistic missile system project in Huntsville, AL. This position requires on-site work to be performed in Huntsville, AL. There are no remote work options.

As a System Engineer on the IDT Product Engineering, Integration & Test (PEIT) team you will be expected to work in an Agile environment with your peers to plan and execute hardware and software verification activities. You will be expected to utilize Jira and Confluence to track your work and link to activities being performed by other teams. Additionally, you will be expected to decompose Prime Item Development Specification (PIDS) into system or product requirements and to develop Verification documentation for the GWS System. You will coordinate your workday with your team and present your accomplishments at sprint review. Your participation in PEIT team meetings is expected, including customer focused meetings/demonstrations.

Requirements :

Represent the GWS IDT program as the primary point of contact for Integrating and Verifying HW and Software requirements at the product level. This role will also support the Integration and Verification of IDT at the GWS System Level through the delivery of Objective Evidence and Test Artifacts.

  • An active Secret clearance is required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 14 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related experience, or 9 years of experience with a PhD

  • Experience in planning and leading Integration efforts of software builds into the hardware design to support operations and test.

  • Experience developing test plans/procedures and test execution.

  • Experience developing or maintaining an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

  • Experience in advising Senior Leadership, The Customer, and Internal Product Teams on the capabilities/limitations of an integrated system.

  • Extensive experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and networks.

  • Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum and be comfortable applying Agile principles when planning their work.

  • Able to effectively and efficiently provide feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user comments.

  • Must be able to work across multiple Integrated Product Teams to maintain situational awareness and inform stakeholders of the IDT delivery schedule, issue tracking and integration activities.

  • Able to perform operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software.

  • Scripting/automation (Perl, Python)

  • Detailed knowledge of Linux and Windows environments

  • Must have experience with Requirements development/collaboration.

  • Working knowledge of system design, system security design, and overall integration into an operational environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Product Owner or Scrum Master roles

  • Experience with development, integration or test of Phased Array Antenna systems

  • Extensive knowledge of C++, Python, or ADA coding language • Security + Certified
