Amazon Software Development Engineer, Identity and Access Management in Iasi, Romania

Description

At Amazon, security is central to maintaining customer trust and delivering delightful customer experiences. Our organization is responsible for creating and maintaining a high bar for security across all of Amazon’s products and services. We offer talented security professionals the chance to accelerate their careers with opportunities to build experience in a wide variety of areas including cloud, devices, retail, entertainment, healthcare, operations, and physical stores.

What do you know about protecting sensitive data? What about fine-grained access control (FGAC) on Big Data? Or attribute-based access control (ABAC) and context based authorization? What about catching bad actors that are abusing Amazon services? Or attacks that could potentially lead to a widespread data breach? Do you know how to generate activity-based intelligence (ABI) through anomaly detection?

In Security Products we build Access Policy Management systems to enable all Amazon teams to apply FGAC to their sensitive data. We build products that apply context based authorization to solve the problem of over-permissioning. We apply Machine Learning Techniques in our Monitored Access (MA) abuse detection program to preemptively detect and mitigate internal and external malicious actors. We do this to protect Amazon customer, seller, vendor and employee information across from constantly changing abuse actor behaviors and patterns.

In our newly created organization we have a rare opportunity to engage with multiple Amazon organizations and groups of experienced tech leaders to build products with impact at an impressive scale (hundreds of thousands of services).

We are looking for enthusiastic Software Development Engineers with strong analytical and problem solving skills, who will participate in full development cycle for mission critical systems. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and tools, on innovative and sophisticated features, collaborate with your team and its leadership to drive key engineering and business decisions that will enhance the Amazon’s security posture. You will contribute to all parts of the software development and deployment lifecycle, including design, implementation, documentation, testing and operations.

Key job responsibilities

  • You document what your team’s software does; how it is constructed, tested, and operated; how secure it is; and how it fits into the bigger picture. When new teammates join, you actively train them in these points.

  • Your work focuses on delivering software features and improvements to major portions of your team’s software. This is not just new software but often includes refactoring and deprecation work.

  • You design software solutions to enable new features or improve software. You may still require guidance from your team’s leadership to ensure your designs are in alignment with your team’s long-term architectural strategy.

  • You work on difficult problems with visible risks or roadblocks. You bring clarity to problems and identify simple designs for solutions.

  • You are a significant contributor to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment and maintenance of the team's software.

  • You are active in the code review process on your team, providing meaningful feedback to others, including those who are more senior.

  • Your work positively impacts the software quality, customer experience, and maintainability of your team’s product(s). You are starting to balance customer requirements with team requirements.
