Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Financial Analyst in IOWA CITY, Iowa. This role will involve overseeing financial statements, coordinating audit activities, managing daily operations, and assisting with budget development. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and will play a key role in financial decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements and reports.

  • Coordinate and implement internal and external audit activities.

  • Coordinate and implement state and federal financial reporting requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage and supervise the daily operations of the Business Services team, ensuring that the activities of the team are aligned with departmental and district policies and procedures.

  • Assist the CFO with budget development and financial forecasting.

  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

    Requirements

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

• Proven experience in a similar role such as Financial Analyst is essential.

• Must be familiar with various Accounting Functions.

• Understanding of Budget Processes and Expense Reporting.

• Strong finance and accounting skills are required.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, technical, IT and numerical abilities are crucial.

• Strong communication and presentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong attention to detail and an investigative nature.

• Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize.

• Must be able to adhere to strict confidentiality policies and ethical considerations in financial management.

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
