The Environment Architect executes a range of workstreams to deliver and maintain network architecture and strategy across the Test & Model Environment within Gemini ensuring close alignment to Live Network Topologies as defined by the Platform Teams. An industry recognised specialist who has a wide view on emerging technologies and their alignment to Environment efficiencies

What you’ll be doing

• Accountable for the long term Lab Strategy in conjunction with Platform requirements and Industry tooling opportunities

• Contributes to the design of network architecture, delivering creative solutions to drive innovation in support of Network Service strategies

• Contributes to the design of network topologies, architectures, and services that solve complex business requirements

• Executes efforts to optimise network performance by growing and modifying existing networks, leveraging new and emerging technologies in support of application services

• Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in network architecture

• Works with Principal Architect, Fixed Networks to ensure Environment & Lab evolution aligns with Live Network plans and opportunities

• Accountable for the Gemini Building/Room consolidation in support of the Adastral Park Building Strategy

• Acts as GemEvo Team liaison for model/lab teams moving into Gemini as part of the Adastral Park Strategy

• Has an industry view of tooling both physical & automation available and aligns with the Software Engineering Specialist for creation/deployment

• GemEVo Team vendor liaison ensuring relevant support contracts are in place and valid

• Controls and coordinates financial spend within the GemEvo Team ensuring relevant orders are raised and managed efficiently.

Skills you'll have

• Network Architecture: Defines a framework for the specification of a Networks physical components and their functional organisation and configuration, its operational principles and procedures, as well as communication protocols used.

• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

• Technology Strategy: Use tools, processes and methodologies to align business strategy and goals with its IT Services and infrastructure

• Requirement gathering: Determines user expectations for a new or modified product ensuring user experience is maintained throughout

• Be agile - You identify opportunities to use collaborative approaches and continuous improvement. You contribute to projects as a subject matter expert or content owner.

• Give specialised advice - You offer advice and recommendations based on your expertise both proactively and on request.

• Technology excellence - You build and apply insight about emerging technology to develop and deliver new digital solutions. You break complex information down into understandable language.

Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology

You've worked with people from other business locations or functions.

Appreciation of Network Testing Toolsets and vendor offerings

You've actively participated in strategy setting sessions

You've influenced a technical team how to do their roles more effectively.
