Job Description

An educational institution is seeking a Desktop Engineer to join their Desktop Support Services team. The candidate will provide services to more than 3500 clients in administrative units throughout the campus. Provides escalated, technical support to campus including VIP clients such as the Chancellor, Chief Academic Officer, and other Vice Chancellor's offices. The engineer will plan and implement hardware and software upgrades. Troubleshoots, resolves, or triages complex network connectivity issues. The candidate will create and oversee creation of complex technical documentation on OIT wiki. This position is hybrid and the candidate must come on site in Irvine at least 3 days a week.

Skills and Requirements

5-10+ years of experience as a Desktop Engineer

Strong experience supporting senior level executives in the VIP space.

Strong self-starter, team player, and willingness to learn new technologies.

Experience troubleshooting Macs, Windows, Laptops etc.

Experience conducting hardware and software tests. Bachelor's Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience.

Del/Apple certified

Experience in ordering and managing hardware requests.

VMware experience setting up and troubleshooting Virtual Desktop Machines. null
