Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network. The position's responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations and day to day assistance with capacity management. Our ideal candidate is sufficiently autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and has some experience in supporting large scale, enterprise class networks. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
You will leverage your experience supporting large scale, enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Network Deploy Technician you will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment with regular peer and customer interaction. In addition to providing management and support of Amazon Web Services vast network infrastructure, Network Deploy Technicians establish and follow best practices and refine operational procedures.
Key job responsibilities
Work closely with our Edge Projects, Cabling vendors, Quality Assurance, Network Engineering, Network Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth rollout of established designs, products and projects
Manage work and priorities through our internal project tracking systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers
Collaboration with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including troubleshooting of network device configuration and low-level application interaction
Up to 50% travel within geographical work area is required. Some travel outside traditional work area may be requested, including internationally
Troubleshooting cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
Remediating small scale hardware failures related to cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
Ensure hardware racking/stacking is completed for new equipment
Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
Exhibit high quality on all work and maintain site cleanliness
Availability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with occasional overnights.

Basic Qualifications
Technical Diploma in Computer Science or related field; or Certifications in a relevant field (CCENT, Network+, CCNA) and up to 2 years of Networking Deployment experience
2+ years of experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, and OTDR etc.) in a Data Center or critical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
Knowledge of major Command Line Protocols (Cisco IOS, JunOS, etc)
Experience with ethernet and IP networking
Experience in large scale data center network implementations and support
Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments
Experience with supervising cabling vendors.
Experience working with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, LEAN, AGILE)
Familiarity with common networking terms and fabric-based network design
Experience with enterprise level infrastructure technologies (Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, Firewalls etc.)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $49,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $123,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
