Amazon Sr. Technical Designer, New World in Irvine, California
We are looking for a Sr. Technical designer to join the AI and Combat teams on New World. New World is an Open World MMO that pits players against the haunted wilderness of Aeternum, a mysterious island in the twilight of the Age of Exploration.
As a Sr. Technical Designer focused on gameplay you will write and optimize script code for player and AI entities and debug and fixes issues from the live game. You will have a strong blend of gameplay design expertise (especially with animation driven combat) and strong technical expertise.
Key job responsibilities
Write script code for various gameplay elements
Debug and fix gameplay issues
Work with the tech and tools team to improve our workflows and pipelines

Irvine, CA, USA
5+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
Expertise with a scripting language (lua, C#, etc.)
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Equivalent Experience
3 years of gameplay design experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $90,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $217,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
