Caterpillar’s Rental Power Solutions (RPS) team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sales Operations Analyst to support Rental Power Business Development. RPS partners with our dealers to perform in-depth Rental Operations Reviews and network-wide Rental Operational Excellence surveys which provide guidance and recommendations on how to improve dealers’ rental operations and go-to-market strategies. Leveraging data is a key component to identifying dealer performance gaps and improvement opportunities. If you’re experienced in data analytics, can paint a compelling picture based on data to empower leaders to make informed decisions, and enjoy working with cross-functional teams, RPS’ Senior Business Analyst may be a great next step for you!

In this role, you will work closely with the RPS business development manager to analyze rental operational and financial data on Rental Operational Reviews with target dealers as well as analyze dealer submission data from the annual Rental Operational Excellence survey. These analyses require evaluation and visualization of rental, operational, and financial data to concisely illustrate recommendations to dealers. You will use Excel and other data visualization tools to enhance business development data analysis, data collection, and reporting capabilities.

What you will do:

  • Work directly with business development manager from project planning to analysis, gather data, interpret results, and develop recommendation presentations. Scope to include but not limited to:

  • Rental operational data

  • Customer analytics

  • Asset management practices

  • Territory/coverage analysis

  • Key rental financial data

  • Aggregated dealer performance data

  • Create reporting/visualization solutions that turn data into critical information to drive sound business decisions.

  • Identify and interpret trends and patterns in datasets.

  • Present insights to senior leaders at Caterpillar and Cat Dealers.

  • Travel to dealer locations (up to 50%).

What you have:

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Identifies, evaluates, and documents dealer best practices.

  • Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy.

  • Productively balances speed and accuracy.

  • Employs techniques for motivating RPS and dealer personnel to meet or exceed accuracy goals.

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and rapport with dealers, customers and across the Caterpillar network

  • Experience presenting to senior executives utilizing data to influence decision making

Business Data Analysis : Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze, and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.

Level Extensive Experience:

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with dealerships and dealer networks in financial or data analysis capacity

  • Extensive experience with data gathering and analytics , with an ability to translate data into actionable insights for customers resulting in services growth

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, slicers, VLOOKUP) and Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Proficient in Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization tools

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in rental operations, data analytics, financial services, data science or related field

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Arabic and/or Portuguese desired but not required

Additional Information:

  • Travel: 50% domestic and international
