You will serve as a SAPR COMMAND VICTIM ADVOCATE (SAR WF) in the HQ US Marine Corps of III MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. Initial consideration for this announcement is limited to the number of applications listed at the top of this announcement (50). Responsibilities You will assess the urgency of cases and develops a plan for assistance; develop and implements an appropriate plan of action in crisis situations. You will conduct safety planning and initiate the notification process with agencies such as law enforcement, safe shelters and command to ensure safety and well-being for the victim, alleged offender, affected Family members and the community. You will provide clients with information, referrals and resources available through Marine Corps, Navy and local communities; facilitate care and provides referrals and non-clinical support to the adult victims of a sexual assault. You will support the victim in decision-making by providing relevant information and discussing available options; assist the victim with prioritizing actions and establishing short- and long-term goals related to recovery from sexual assault. You will conduct professional level and administrative educational and interactive training workshops/seminars on sexual assault, defining sexual assault; determining safe and confidential ways to seek assistance Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing sexual assault advocacy services; developing and implementing crisis plan of actions and sexual assault assistance plans; assisting with developing and coordinating command SAPR prevention and awareness campaigns or events; and conducting education and training sexual assault workshops/seminars. Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. Conditions of Employment continued: This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Overseas allowances may be authorized in accordance with Department of State. A service agreement may be negotiated in accordance with the Joint Traval Regulation(JTR), applicable Department of Navy(DoN) policies, and local Marine Corps Bases Japan. Relocation cost and LQA may be authorized. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily. Military Spouses and Family Members may apply 30 days before their anticipated arrival date. However, they will not receive preference until arrival at the foreign location. ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
