Turner Mining Group Quarry Business Unit Manager in Jackson, Missouri

The Quarry Business Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Quarry to

ensure that it operates effectively, efficiently, safely, and profitably. This individual would also

handle the implementation and maintenance of asset protection, financial evaluation, budgeting,

and cost control, environmental, personnel and compliance with company policies and

procedures. The position requires the exercise of discretion, decision making and independent

judgment and experience state and federal laws regulating surface mines, yard loading, primary,

secondary, and tertiary crushing plants, maintenance planning and execution, and continuous

improvement. Will report to the Quarry site located in Jackson, MO.

Job Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Oversee the company's operations, including inventory management, logistics, and distribution.

  • Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance. Look for ways to consistently improve upon daily activities through methods and technology.

  • Develop short-term and long-term business strategies that align with the company goals and objectives.

  • Set measurable performance standards for each area of operation of the Quarry.

  • Establish processes and procedures for reporting deliverables to project management, financial control, and other support staff.

  • Maintain industry and territory knowledge and standards and adapt to market driven changes.

  • Supervise the daily activities of each employee, review, and approve hours worked.

  • Ensure the Quarry is working safely and in compliance with all guidelines of the company and state and federal government.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage the company's budget, financial statements, and cash flow projections.

  • Provide coaching and development that promotes company values and leadership behaviors.

  • Support capacity planning by improving delivery, efficiency, and positive cash flow.

  • Manage multiple projects through the permitting, licensing, and installation of materials and services.

  • Instruct and mentor members of the team in various methods and techniques that will enhance the team and company performance.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and key industry players.

  • Notify management of any significant schedule or project change and advise on solutions to correct.

  • Maintain clear knowledge and understanding to implement company values and strategic plan.

  • Performs additional duties that are assigned by management.
