JPMorgan Chase Principle Software engineer - Java in Jersey City, New Jersey

Be a part of our engineering team that is responsible for creating cutting-edge products and experiences by applying your expertise in software development to real-world situations.

As a Director of Software Engineering, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives

  • Accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations

  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

  • Mentor and onboard junior members of the team

  • Support application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design

  • Support production environment for stability when required by troubleshooting application code-related issues

  • Realize the product's objectives and key results, and other metrics defined on the Product roadmap

  • Inspire teams to build services and technologies that will be the backbone of technology at JPMC

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists

  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager

  • Practical cloud native experience

  • Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

  • Expert in object-oriented analysis and design techniques and Rest APIs

  • Hands-on experience in leading product delivery from beginning to end

  • Hands-on experience inJava and database technologies , Postgres preferred

  • Hands-on experience creating micro services usingspringbootor spring framework

  • Has built and delivered large scale platforms leveraging micro service architecture

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Preferred experience working with REACT//Javascript

  • Preferred experience with Agile framework

  • Ideal candidate has a passion for business products and influencing the business tech space with innovative ideas and creative thinking

NY $190,000.00 - $285,000.00 / year
