Your day at NTT DATA

The primary responsibility of the Network Engineer (L3) is to provide technical support to NTT clients. This role is able to compile technical specifications in a clear, concise, unambiguous manner to explain the advantages and disadvantages of options leading to the final solution and are able to create alternative solutions as backup planning. This role works towards professional to expert level certification, whilst at the same time developing business knowledge. This role has seasoned proficiency across two or more technologies, namely Networking, Data Centre, Security, Customer Experience, Collaboration and/or End User Compute.

What you'll be doing

Position Summary and Primary Objectives

The candidate will be responsible for the installation of clients WAN connections to IS, including access based products as well as VPN based solutions. Engineers will be required to configure and install cisco and Fortigate SDWAN based products within accepted standards. Diligence and accuracy pertaining to Installations is an absolute requirement. Successful candidate will be customer facing which will command an excellent level of customer service.

Main Duties / Key Accountabilities

The implementation of a Access and MPLS VPN based network solutions.

The implementation of SDWAN solutions.

The engineer will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion of installations and the relevant administration work that is required for signing off jobs and projects.

Customer focused – will be required to follow up with clients on installations

Must have knowledge of configuring/installing cisco and Fortigate SDWAN based products.

Should have basic knowledge of cisco networking technologies such as BGP,EIGRP,OSPF,HSRP etc

Requirements: Education, Training and Experience

  • An appropriate tertiary qualification in computer science or Information technology with a B.Sc Eng / B.Sc / B.Comm preferred.

  • Should have a CCNA lworking towards CCIP/CCNP

  • Should have SDWAN experience (Meraki,Viptella and Fortigate)

  • At least 6 Years experience in an networking environment.

  • A theoretical and practical understanding and knowledge of networking topologies and TCP/IP is required

  • The candidate should have working knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, computer network architecture, routing protocols, specifically TCP/IP.
