Job Description

Our Mechanical Assembler Class 2 is tasked with the assembly and quality assurance of airport ground support equipment, ensuring each piece meets company and safety standards. Candidates must be able to follow complex assembly instructions, blueprints, and schematic drawings to construct or repair equipment accurately. This position requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to use various hand and power tools proficiently. Team collaboration is vital, as is the ability to identify and resolve issues during the assembly process to maintain productivity and quality standards.

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS AN MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER CLASS 2

  • You like working as a team, toward a common goal

  • Interpret complex assembly blueprints and schematic diagrams to assemble parts and systems

  • Use precision tools to accurately measure and fit components ensuring tight tolerances are met

  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks including the use of drills, taps, and other machining tools

  • Connect electrical wiring and electronic components as per specifications using soldering and crimping techniques

  • Install hydraulic and pneumatic systems, ensuring all connections are secure and leak-free

  • Conduct routine tests and inspections on subassemblies to ensure functionality and compliance with technical standards

  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues by adjusting or reworking non-conforming parts

  • Document assembly processes and results, maintaining detailed records of work performed

  • Follow established safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

  • Follow strict adherence to safety procedures and protocols to prevent injury or equipment damage

  • You have very strong customer service skills

  • You have a great attention to detail

  • Available to work, days, nights, weekends and holidays

  • You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

  • Like to build long term relationships with your customers

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

  • Physical activity may include:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

  • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 18 years old

  • 2 years manufacturing and or assembly experience

  • Ability to pass a drug screen

  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
