What role will you play?

As Category Head Mechanics (w/m/d) you will closely collaborate with the Head and peer leadership team of SCM PD and the respective Siemens business within the whole Procurement Network with a responsibility of approx. 1’’5 EUR p.a.- You are globally responsible heading directly 14 Corporate Purchasing Council Managers, Corporate Commodity Engineers and SCM specialists.

In particular, you will

  • develop and perform the strategic vision and roadmap for your category; align it with the strategic targets and ambition of the Siemens businesses and the SCM community, and our aspiration to leverage data and agile methodology for maximum customer impact,

  • wisely use and implement agile approaches and principles and push lean thinking within the interventions and strategy development and execution,

  • act as a role model and proactively lead transformation of organization and workforce in close connection to the overall SCM Northstar and Procurement strategies of the businesses,

  • position your category as an integral part of SCM Pooled Direct in our SCM ecosystem of key partners incl. countries, businesses, and key expert functions to optimize the whole end-to-end,

  • responsible, supervise and evaluate the efficiency of our strategy by e.g., implement and measure KPIs (f.e. PVO, CoO/FTE), and provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement,

  • build a strong team of global and diverse talent; ensure that the category will be an organization incubating excellent talent,

  • co-lead the overall transformation by also mentor the team members and teams, living our spirit of strengths-based dialogue and co-create and lead your category strategy.

If you have a proven track record of leading transformation in SCM related functional areas – but not limited to it, bringing in new perspectives, leading a team of experienced procurement managers in a volatile environment, thinking in strategic systems with P&L responsibility and gained practical experience in leading organizational development with senior leadership teams of global organizations, this might be THE opportunity for you to co-shape the Pooled Direct Procurement of the next years.

We are looking forward to getting to know you if you…

  • bring more than 10 years of (Senior) leadership experience with proven track record,

  • have an excellent academic background, a university degree in a technical or economies related field,

  • have sophisticated experience in organizational development, strategy & transformation and benchmarking or a similar field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role experienced in leading leaders,

  • have a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex ecosystems within the business driving people-related organizational development, and developing & implementing innovative solutions,

  • are willing to learn and drive in-depth knowledge of SCM practices, agile methodologies, change management, and emerging trends in SCM like sustainability and decoupling/resilience,

  • bring strong business acumen and the ability to align Procurement strategies with overall business objectives,

  • have excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor, motivate, and empower a diverse team. You have the courage to lead based on own judgement and expertise,

  • bring outstanding strategic and systemic thinking; you are able to connect the dots in a complex organization and are able to bring to bear the dynamics of a large organization and use thoughtful influencing to effectuate change,

  • strive to optimize the whole end-to-end; you put Siemens first and want to contribute to Siemens as an enterprise.
