Raw Material and Supplier Manager - Kennesaw, GA

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Nature & Scope:

This individual will be responsible for the oversight and success of the North American region’s raw material and supplier qualification programs for ADM’s Health and Wellness (H&W) division. This role will build and maintain a centralized location and unified process across all NA H&W sites that will allow consideration of multiple compliance requirements and be organized in such a way that all sites have accessibility. They will conduct hazard analyses and risk evaluations as necessary to ensure compliance with multiple standards and regulations across various H&W sites.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Create and/or modify procedures around the qualification of raw materials and supplier, including frequency of review, success and risk acceptance criteria, and the retrieval and storage of information.

  • Create and maintain one centralized location for the storage of supplier and raw material qualification information.

  • Perform regular risk assessments to determine the continued compliance of raw material and suppliers.

  • Ensure changes within the industry that could impact raw material or supplier qualification are considered promptly.

  • Ensure qualification acceptance is appropriately evaluated against multiple certification and regulatory requirements as they relate to individual site qualification requirements for raw material and suppliers.

  • Oversee the scheduling of supplier audits by partnering with individual sites and ADM resources outside H&W. Conduct qualification audits as necessary.

  • Oversee the quality evaluation within supplier scorecards. Define criteria for success and, evaluation, and failures that would result in disqualification.

  • Oversee and conduct as necessary the evaluation and risk assessments of new and alternatively sourced raw materials against food safety parameters, FSVP compliance, and other applicable procedures.

  • Oversee the NA FSVP program.

  • Perform on-site food safety and quality system audits of vendors.

  • Build a process and oversee raw material specification building including parameters for release.

  • Align raw material specification expectations across procurement, sourcing and quality.

  • Perform duties as required to ensure success of the raw material and supplier qualification program.

Job Profile:

Education

  • Minimum – Bachelors in Food Science, Biology, or equivalent

Experience

  • 3+ years’ work experience in CFR 111 or 117 compliant facility in Quality or Supply Chain

  • Preferred: Experience in auditing

Specific skills

  • Working knowledge and experience pertaining to regulatory requirements in an FDA regulated food manufacturing environment, including, FSVP, FSMA and HARPC/HACCP.

  • Working knowledge and experience in food defense.

  • Strong analytical experience, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

  • Maintains a high level of self-motivation including, the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Utilize word processing and Excel software to design quality procedures, method instruction, and control plans.

  • Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines, and to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to assess situations and develop solutions.

  • Effective communications and report writing skills; legible handwriting required.

  • Excellent PC skills, with a strong background in ERP and QMS programs with the ability to quickly become proficient new systems.

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Results driven, strong work ethic

  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skills

  • Must possess a valid US driver’s license
