As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will work within several areas of the warehouse and with our procurement team to make sure that all product is moving through the supply chain quickly. The QA Manager works to oversee inbound produce loads from suppliers and ensures all product is inspected in accordance with USDA standards. Additionally, the QA Manager frequently walks throughout our refrigerated warehouse in order to inspect the quality of all inventory in the facility. Our QA Manager is also responsible for managing the Quality Assurance and Repack departments, as well as overseeing the Ripening program and processes.  

 

What you'll do...

Quality Control and Inventory Management

  • Ensure all inbound and outbound product meets quality standards
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address non-compliance issues
  • Work interdepartmentally with Procurement and Operations departments to communicate needs and opportunities
  • Partner with our Sales team and customers to understand and define customer expectations
  • Oversee process of evaluating quality and value of inventory on hand
  • Assess shrink standards and manage results
  • Assist in establishing a forecast model based on customer demand
  • Support and enhance PCF's recall protocol
  • Develop and maintain ripening protocols and schedules to achieve desired ripening outcomes

Reporting and Analysis

  • Regularly prepare and present reports on the status of product quality
  • Analyze trends in product quality to identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits. Assist with third party and customer audits to obtain or maintain certifications
  • Review and verify GMP, HACCP and SQF records
  • Maintain program to ensure accurate receipt of inbound inventory
  • Develop, measure, analyze, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to food quality and ripening processes 

What we look for...

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3+ years of produce industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to multitask and plan and carry out projects with well-defined goals and outcomes
  • Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Good judgment and the awareness of financial impact of decisions
  • As a leader, model and communicate Pacific Coast Fresh Company's Vision, Mission, & Values
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, with an emphasis in Excel
