Summary You will serve as a PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANIC in the PIPE SHOP, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will diagnose and determine corrective procedures in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and reconditioning of all production shop machines. You will direct work of assisting trades persons. You will troubleshoot problems by systematic step-by-step checks and correct problems when located. You will use various hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments such has height gauges, depth gauges, calipers, verniers, micrometers of various types. You will ensure pumps used in nuclear work are repaired and maintained to a Grade A cleanliness standard.
