Patent Agent

Work Mode: Hybrid

Opportunity

The Patent Agent will be a part of the Intellectual Property (IP) team, working closely with the company’s various research and development groups to provide patent support necessary for product clearance, patent protection, and marketplace/technology evaluation.

Specific Responsibilities

•Manage relationships with product development teams and act as a business partner to them, reviewing new product developments through every aspect of the patent process. Collaborate to build a strong understanding of regulation and registration requirements.

•Carry out a range of research activities to collate and analyze patents/marketplace intellectual property; contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports. Provide others with expert advice to get the most out of the data by providing support and guidance.

•Organize and prepare complex documents supporting patent application/process and prosecution efforts utilizing strategic mindset to look ahead to future questions or objections that may arise.

•Provide financial modeling input into business cases, costs, and schedules to support growth in the business, preparation of budgetary and financial reports.

•Strategically contribute to managing the organization’s portfolio.

Skills/Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree required in the physical sciences or engineering.

•2+ year applicable experience as a Patent Agent preferred (either with a private firm or corporate legal department)

•Registration with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

•Experience in managing complexity, optimizing work processes, using strategic mindset, knowledge of business insights, persuasive, effective communication, instilling trust, and managing ambiguity.

The salary range for this position is $98,900 - $125,600. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
