Jacobs IT Category Buyer (fixed term contract)(M/W/X) in Krakow, Poland

Your Impact:

Jacobs’ IT Sourcing organization manages IT suppliers and develops and executes procurement category strategies that support the needs of Jacobs’ business units and IT. The IT Category Buyer provides internal customers with procurement and contract solution support for one or more designated products and categories. The IT Category Buyer also builds relationships with stakeholders to support early engagement opportunities with suppliers to optimize investment.

Under the direction of IT Sourcing management, this individual will drive business value and cost savings through management of our IT contracts portfolio. This individual will support both net new requirements and contract renewal activity, actively engage with internal customers and suppliers to negotiate favorable commercial and contract terms for Jacobs, identify opportunities to optimize and reduce costs which contribute to the value delivered by the IT Sourcing team.

Qualified individuals will have demonstrated experience in the IT domain, emphasis placed in the IT Software & Hardware space, with a focus on commercial and contract management.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and review current contracts, inventories, costs, and future state requirements in support of sourcing and negotiation strategies that drive value capture for IT related commodities

  • Support negotiations with current and potential suppliers as part of the contract renewal or direct negotiation process, including contract and commercial terms involving price and volume discounts

  • Collect and analyze data to support effective contract approaches and improvement opportunities with fact-based options; provide execution support of selected contract rationalization opportunities with key suppliers

  • Proactively manage procurement work queue, request quotes and process purchase orders along with other administrative-related tasks

  • Coordinate with internal IT Hardware and Software Asset Management personnel for purposes of capturing/reporting Jacobs’ assets in accordance with executed contract(s)

  • Leverage ability to develop collaborative relationships in support of internal customer requirements and deliverables; evaluate supplier performance based on negotiated contract terms

  • Contribute to and deliver against all performance-based metrics set at the organizational level

  • Support US and globally based team members, internal customers, and suppliers

  • Strictly uphold Company and Departmental policies and procedures, while adhering to IT Sourcing processes

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Robust career experience in IT Sourcing and/or Procurement (emphasis on IT Software & Hardware)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, finance, business, legal or another applicable field. Related experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.

  • Proven self-starter who can work independently and within a team while effectively juggling multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated experience in contract review and negotiations legal and/or commercial

  • Experience interfacing/working with internal and external customers (incl. supplier relationship management)

  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills

  • Adapts quickly, acts independently, and can make an immediate impact

  • Detail-oriented with an appreciation for customer service and delivery

  • Fluent English both written and verbal required

  • Experience with ERP Procurement Systems such as Oracle R12, SAP etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing procurement operations, including drafting and formulating IT contracts, RFx development, negotiations, administering purchase orders, contracts or subcontracts.

  • Experience with hardware and software agreements.

  • Familiarity with IT supplier landscape, key players, and market related knowledge (having previously worked in the technology industry would be a plus).
