Controls Engineer- Lafayette, IN

Job Description:

Join our team as a Controls Engineer, where you will be deeply involved in optimizing processes and automation equipment for new model vehicle launches. Your role will primarily support new project launches, including bringing in new capital projects and retrofitting existing equipment to specification. You will also provide occasional support on the production floor during major issues resulting in delayed production. Expect to spend 80% of your time planning for new projects/improvements and 20% of your time executing those plans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical systems for machinery using AutoCAD, Solidworks, or CATIA

  • Electrical schematic design

  • Troubleshooting, modifying, and programming PLCs and HMIs

  • Working with industrial Networking systems (DeviceNet, TCP/IP, Uniwire)

  • Integration and programming of Robotic systems

  • Mechanical Systems Design

  • MS Office and MS Project proficiency

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • 3+ years of professional controls experience

  • PLC Programming (ability to write new programs from scratch & modify current code)

  • Project Management (qualify & define project specifications, manage budgets and detailed schedules)
