IDS, a division of ITW , is a global market leader in the design and manufacturing of pad printing, hot stamp, heat seal, and tax stamp technology for product decoration. Our brands provide equipment together with all required supplies and services to serve as a true single source solution for product decoration and sealing. Our division consists of four global brands with a shared mission – to be your trusted partner for product decoration.

Located in Lancaster, NY, sets up and operates surface grinding machines with reciprocating table to grind silicone rubber to tolerance. Candidate will perform basic maintenance of equipment.

Pay range: $19.00-$21.50

  • Operate Surface Grinder following Safe practices

  • Finish Sheets to size including the use of Band Saw, Buffing, and sanding equipment

  • Package and create finished product

  • Maintenance on Equipment including Grinders, Band Saws, Sanders, Buffing Wheels, Ventilation Equipment

  • Supports sheet molding including: Prepping metal, Molding sheets

  • Maintains accurate documentation of all work performed.

  • Provide good customer service.

  • All other duties as assigned

  • Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management

*Education: * High School, a trade school degree in a related area preferred, or demonstrated experience.

Experience/Skills:

  • Ability to operate Surface Grinder

  • Machining experience

  • Ability to use measuring tools (Vernier calipers, scale, micrometer)

  • Experience with most varieties of hand and power tools.

  • Good communication skills required to follow direction, work in a team and discuss machines with customers.

  • Basic mathematical skills

  • Basic computer skills

  • Ability to read and understand English

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

  1. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly (67% - 100%) be required to twist/turn, stand, walk, and grasp, and frequently (34% - 66%) be required to bend/squat, crawl, handle and manipulate small items. They will occasionally (1% - 33%) be required to climb, reach above shoulder, reach outward, sit, and type.

  2. The employee must carry up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 50 pounds frequently, and use safe lifting methods to move100 pounds occasionally. The employee must push and pull up to 10 pounds constantly, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

  3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include concentrated attention, close vision, far vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to bring object into sharp focus.
