Aerotek Fabrication Technician in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Manufacturing company in Lancaster, PA is hiring for a Fabrication Technician. This role involves working with the manufacturing and engineering departments to design and manufacture heat transfer devices used in the Aerospace and Defense Industries. This is the perfect entry level opportunity for candidates coming out of a 2 year welding or machining program to learn in multiple skilled trades fields and grow within the company!

Fabrication Technician

1st shift: 7a - 3:30p Mon - Fri

Pay Range: $20-23/hr

Job Description:

Candidates will be very hands on (90%) and using computers and CAD software to create drawings/schematics (10%). Candidate does not have to be proficient in all skills of TIG welding/blazing, machining, fabrication, basic electrical wiring, CAD. Should be proficient in at least one or more of these and have familiarity and be willing to learn the others. Candidates need to be able to work independently and be self motivated to complete tasks without having to be assigned tasks to do.

Responsibilities include:

• Hands-On: Has a liking for building and fabricating hardware per instructions or engineering drawings. A general ability to machine, braze, solder and/or weld will be useful skills in this position.

• Electrical Skills: Able to perform minor electrical work to setup tests. Such work would include wiring heaters for thermal tests or solder fixtures, setting up power supplies, watt-meters or measuring current and resistance to calculate power.

• CAD/CAM: Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks along with understanding how to read and interpret drawings per geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) standards is considered a benefit.
