Job Summary:

The clinical supervisor is responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of the programs assigned. Clinical supervisor will conduct individual supervision for assigned staff,  review documentation for non-independently licensed staff and provide coaching and guidance on diagnosis and quality measures,  coordinate with other supervisors in facilitating clinical group supervision,   and  participate in quality improvement and operational meetings. Clinical supervisor may also provide services to patients which may  include biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans,  and individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy.

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence-based practices, especially crisis intervention and short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.

  • Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow-up and closure.

  • Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with clients and their families.

  • Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with the public.

  • Assesses and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Actively seek feedback and supervision, and engage in personal reflection and self-correction

  • Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice

  • Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws

  • Knowledge of and adheres to state reporting and regulatory guidelines 

  • Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients and staff

  • Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma informed practices

  • Formulates realistic, patient centered treatment goals and evaluate progress toward goals

  • Knowledge of developmental needs of population served

  • Knowledge of methods of clinical supervision

  • Knowledge of program regulations, established agency policy and procedure, and  applicable government  or program  contracts.

    Job Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a behavioral health related field.

  • Current New Mexico independent license in the field of counseling, social work, psychology or marriage and family therapy.

  • Have a minimum of one year supervisory experience

  • Must maintain a clean driving record, valid driver’s license, and current car insurance. Must submit to LCDF required background check, TB screen and drug testing.
