Dartmouth Health Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), General Surgery Clinic in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview

General surgery is a fast paced, multi procedural clinic. If you are looking to expand your LNA or MA skill-set, support building a strong team and develop through additional training and growth opportunities, then the General Surgery clinic might be the right fit for you!

This is a high procedural clinic where you will assist the providers in a wide-variety of procedures. On the job training will be provided.

We are seeking an energetic individual who would like to collaborate closely in a team environment to ensure high quality, compassionate care is provided during each patient encounter.

Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Greet and room patient. Notifies appropriate provider. Takes and records vital signs. Informs provider of patient vital signs and concerns.

  • Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedures and exams.

  • Recognizes and treats emergency patients as a priority, assists with patient examinations and treatments.

  • Instructs patients in preparation for specific procedures.

  • Collects and processes routine laboratory specimen.

  • Operates and maintains clinical equipment.

  • Maintains and uses aseptic technique including sterilization, disinfection and disposal of contaminated material.

The clinic is open 8am-5pm Monday through Friday, allowing for consistency in your schedule and maximize your time outside of work, too! 4 – 10 hour days.

We are currently offering a $2500 LNA sign on bonus for eligible hires!

Responsibilities

Performs various patient care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care duties. Possesses direct access to drug products and secure medication locations in order to manage the storage, handling and disposal of medications consistent with the Medication Storage and Handling Policy.

  • Assists with routine patient care activities under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, including, but not be limited to, performing ADL’s, obtaining clinical data, including vital signs, heights and weights, utilizing universal precautions, collecting specimens or performing point of care testing and recording results in medical record, etc.

  • Assists in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by keeping the hallways clear of excess equipment, emptying linen bags when full, etc.

  • Assists visitors and answer telephones.

  • Assists new co-workers in learning the work of the department.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate required.

  • Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and be familiar with computer use.

  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Licensed Nursing Assistant in the State of NH required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.

  • Area of Interest:LNA/MA;

  • FTE/Hours per pay period:1.00 - 1.00 - 40 hrs/week;
