City Wide Facility Solutions Payroll Processor in Lenexa, Kansas

City Wide is looking for a Payroll Processor for our multi-company organization. We are a locally-owned, national organization in the building maintenance industry with more than 60 years’ experience managing more than 20+ facility services, including janitorial services. Here you will find a high-energy work environment that balances high expectations with coaching, group support, and fun. This position is located in our Lenexa corporate office.

The Payroll Processor is responsible for a variety of functions within the Payroll Department as well as some responsibilities with A/P.

Key responsibilities of this role:

  • Performs all activities necessary to process payroll for multiple companies with multiple payroll cycles through Ceridian/Dayforce.

  • Process commission and bonus checks monthly for multiple companies.

  • Set up payroll deductions and maintain records for health/dental insurance contributions, child support and garnishments, union fees/dues, and pension plan for union members, etc. Reconcile monthly billings for same and submit to accounts payable for payment. Generate reports for submission to Union.

  • Assist in reconciling and processing annual W-2/W-3 requirements; prepare information as requested for IRS Form 5500 on Section 125 Premium Only Plan; generate reports for Worker’s Compensation audit.

  • Process accounts payable items for payment and maintain copies.

  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state wage and hour laws, including FLSA, tax filings, child support/garnishment; keeps current with existing and new legislation.

  • Responsible for the Payroll and Time and Attendance System as a user and as a Technical Manager.

  • Other bookkeeping responsibilities, as needed.


Here’s what we are looking for:

  • 3-5 years of recent payroll experience, to include full-cycle payroll processing.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of federal and state wage laws.

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

  • Microsoft proficient.

  • Ability to partner with others to collectively meet deadlines and resolve issues.

  • Detail oriented and accuracy a must.

  • Willing to take on new tasks, learn new procedures and processes.

  • Experience in Dayforce/Ceridian, Paychex or other HRIS software.
