The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Assembly Operator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• To learn and perform a variety of electronic and/or mechanical assembly tasks, such as brazing simple designs, pot standard bifilar and toroid heater assemblies, and more dimensional inspections, etc. following specific work instructions with supervision as needed. These tasks are completed by utilizing binding materials, potting powder and small hand tools while working under a microscope to assemble part types of a well-defined nature

• Responsible for completing more difficult assembly tasks

• Operators are required to complete all “trainee” level matrices before advancing to the “C” grade level

• Follow and understand method sheets and blueprints

• Work with minimal supervision

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections

• Ensure proper fit of components

• Maintain a clean and tidy work

• Following all plant rules and safety regulations

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate

• Participate in all safety and regulatory training needed to fulfill the duties of the position

• Wear PPE as required per procedures

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher completed and verified prior to start

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Able to read and interpret written operating instructions (method sheets and blueprints), measuring tools (calipers and micrometers), decimal numbering and perform four function math

Work location: Onsite – Lexington, Kentucky.

The starting rate of pay for this position is $18.50 per hour. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
