Job Description

Dotdash Meredith is seeking an Associate Director of Marketing to join our Beauty & Style + Entertainment vertical, contributing to the forward movement of brands like Brides, InStyle, Byrdie and Shape. You will manage daily proposal work, partnering with sales and support teams to play an integral role in the success of our Beauty business. As the quarter back to our pitch process, you understand advertisers' business goals, are able to digest and apply audience insights to business problems and ultimately know the most effective Dotdash Meredith product solutions to help achieve those goals. As a team contributor, you will support the development process for Dotdash Meredith brands and play a proactive role in monetizing our brands' key initiatives with advertising partners.

Reporting into an Executive Director, the Associate Director, Marketing, plays a critical role in guiding, developing, and packaging innovative opportunities and products to Dotdash Meredith's Beauty & Style premium advertisers.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a significant role in generating revenue as a trusted and knowledgeable partner to the Beauty sales team with a focus on top accounts like: Ulta Beauty, Sephora, Estee Lauder, COTY, Shiseido, e.l.f. Beauty and more.

  • Leverage industry expertise to create compelling proposals around our digital, video and related brand portfolio and capabilities, extracting and applying best practices against the business holistically.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the Beauty and Style categories, contribute to our go-to-market strategies, and execute on excellent and compelling narratives

  • Serve as a leader and mentor to junior team members; this role may have managerial responsibilities

  • Attend client briefings and sales presentations to pitch integrated marketing solutions/ideas

  • Work closely and collaboratively with internal partners and stakeholders such as Editorial, Digital, Video, Data, Brand, Custom Content, Product & Creative teams to develop and execute on new advertiser opportunities while leveraging our full portfolio of assets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of ad sales marketing / promotion (digital and/or cross-platform marketing)

  • The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, collaborative, self-motivated marketer with a proficiency for delivering creative solutions and best-in-class ideas that connect with consumers, deliver results for advertisers and drive revenue. This individual will have their finger on the pulse of consumer and marketplace trends shaping business and have an ability to create a narrative that clearly articulates Dotdash Meredith's strengths and competitive advantage.

  • Experience ideating and developing advertising programs required - excellent proposal and presentation writing, insight identification, and welcoming receiving + sharing constructive feedback are key

  • Exceptional creative writing and storytelling skills with an ability to execute visually impactful presentations

  • Strong communication as well as presentation skills; must be able to pitch ideas and onboard others toward a common strategic goal

  • Outstanding creative and collaboration skills, with an understanding of how to lead brainstorms, and inspire, motivate and connect with others to create remarkable programs

  • Ability to mentor and manage direct reports within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

  • Effective organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

In-Office Expectations - Hybrid 3x a week (NYC)

  • This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

Pay Range

Salary: $91,000 - $130,000

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
