Navistar, Inc. Senior Project Engineer in Lisle, Illinois
Position Overview
Navistar is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team!
In this role, you will work in the Base software Verification & Validation team as a Sr. Project Engineer. You will play a significant role in verification and troubleshooting of unit/functional automated testing solutions. You will be accountable for the overall unit/functional test automation strategy and test execution; you will play a critical role as verification lead engineer in platform BSW team (Basic Software in AUTOSAR platform).
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and support test automation solutions across various environments and platforms, including AUTOSAR BSW, and proprietary platform
Embedded software verification & testing in C/C++, and/or other high-level scripting languages (e.g., Python, CAPL)
Create and maintain test cases and testing documentation (test plans, test report, test cases/scripts, defect reports)
Analyzing and understanding product requirements and specifications to create and executing test cases based on requirements and design documentation
Collaborate with development teams to integrate test automation into different stages of the software development lifecycle
Lead, prepare, and conduct test readiness reviews with stakeholders and program leadership
Identifying, tracking, and resolving or reporting bugs and issues
Working with different management and configuration tools such as Jira, Gitlab, SVN, etc.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 8 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 6 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
At least 1 year leading others in engineer/design activities
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
5+ years of experience in embedded development testing and/or test automation
3+ years of experience with unit testing tools preferably Vector-CAST, QAC, etc.
1+ years of experience in Static Analysis (e.g., PC lint)
2+ years of team lead experience
Experience in requirements-based testing for automotive domain
Experience in software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, configuration management, build processes, and CICD
Experience in developing test script in CAPL, Python, and/or C or C++ for interfacing with test equipment
Ability to lead test strategies with tools and Automation frameworks especially on Embedded Devices
Experience with Requirement Management Tools (e.g., Polarian)
Proficiency in CICD pipeline automation/Source Code Repositories using SVN subversion, Gitlab or similar
Familiarity with Adaptive AUTOSAR concepts, architecture, and specifications
