United Zion Retirement Commuinty Transportation & Scheduling Coordinator in Lititz, Pennsylvania

*Primary Accountability: * Schedules appointments for Skilled Nursing and Personal Care Residents. Transport residents to and from appointments. Creates master schedules on On-shift software for the nursing department to ensure staffing PPD's.

  • Schedules skilled care and personal care resident appointments, communicates with residents and family/guardian(s), confirming and changing as needed and gathers required paperwork for each appointment.
  • Assists in ambulation and transfers of residents with or without assistive devices while ensuring resident safety and comfort.
  • Transports residents to appointments using a car, van, or bus.
  • Accurately maintains a record of all pertinent scheduling data and provide authorized personnel with information needed.
  • Arranges and maintains transportation schedule in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Develops computerized schedules for assigned nursing units based on established staffing patterns, policies, approved employee preferences.
  • Coordinate adequate staffing PPD in alignment with regulatory standards and the standards of the facility. Maintains accurate data entry of staff activity per shift.
  • Communicates with staff to cover all shifts in cases of call offs, scheduled absences, and emergencies.
  • Ensure newly hired nursing staff have schedules prior to first day of work.
  • Identifies potential staffing shortages and advised appropriate supervisor, manager, or director(s).
  • Communicates changes to the daily staffing plan to the Charge Nurse on the appropriate unit (sick calls, supplemental staff, A-days, etc.).
  • Converse with the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing with scheduling needs.

Position Qualifications:

Education & Experience: High School Diploma and 3 years relative experience required.

Some post-high school education and at least 3 years of experience in similar role preferred.

Must be 18 years of age or older. 

  • Valid PA driver's license to operate company vehicle(s).
  • Ability to read road signs and maps.
  • Knowledge of operating a vehicle.
  • Proper lifting and assisting techniques for handling residents.
  • Computer experience.
