We are immediately hiring an Environmental Services Supervisor. This position is responsible forsupervising the activities of 10 + assigned employees including assigning work and inspection and correction if needed of work performed. Provides coordination, support and training for the employees within areas of responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in housekeeping practices and procedures. Enforces adherence to hospital and departmental policies and procedures and performs all aspects of employee discipline. Assures adequate staffing patterns, communicates effectively to all facility staff, patients, and visitors, and practices all components of Service Excellence.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  1. Inventory Control

Assures adequate chemicals, supplies and equipment are available for staff’s use.

Assures EVS carts are set up and stocked correctly.

Assures EVS closets and storage rooms are stocked correctly.

Assures chemicals, supplies and equipment are used correctly.

Assures supply areas are maintained in a neat, orderly and clean manner.

2. Performs Inspections

Demonstrates ability in problem solving, skill proficiency and technical competency while working with personnel.

Demonstrates ability to insure a high level of quality and efficiency for EVS functions in area of responsibility.

Demonstrates ability to monitor work progress to insure to assure assigned tasks are properly completed in a timely manner.

Demonstrates ability to perform and document daily inspections.

Demonstrates ability to enforce hospital and departmental policies and assures procedures are followed at all times.

Demonstrates ability to insure proper departmental response to codes/alerts/drills within the hospital.

Demonstrates ability to perform all aspects of employee discipline.

  1. Assigns Work

Demonstrates ability to set priorities, process work requests and assign work to EVS staff.

Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain appropriate staff coverage for daily staffing needs.

Demonstrates ability to plan and staff project work.

Demonstrates ability to adjust and assign staff to meet workload needs.

  1. Practices Customer Relations

Demonstrates ability to interact positively as a department liaison with hospital departments and nursing units.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate activities with EVS leadership, EVS staff, and other facility personnel.

Demonstrates the ability to collect and supply accurate and complete information in a timely manner.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively interact with patients, staff and visitors.

Demonstrates the ability to effectively remove staff’s barriers to Excellence.

  1. Training and orientating

Responsible for the orientating of new employees.

Responsible for training new employees along with training of existing employees.

Qualifications

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Supervisor/Management experience preferred

  • Previous experience in commercial/healthcare cleaning preferred

  • Some college experience preferred
