Appficiency US Chief Technology Officer in Littleton, Colorado

Appficiency US, Inc. seeks a Chief Technology Officer to serve as a key member of the executive team. The CTO is responsible for leading the company's technological vision, strategy, and execution, focused on driving innovation, maintaining technical excellence, and ensuring the successful development and deployment of SharePoint software products. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth and long-term success in the SharePoint and Office 365 market. Specific duties include:

Develop and articulate the company's overall technology strategy, aligning it with the company's business objectives and long-term vision.

Oversee the entire product development lifecycle of product lines, from concept ideation to product launch. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and quality assurance, to ensure timely and high-quality product releases. Provide feedback on designs for new product launches, new product features and bug fixes of existing products.

Lead research and development efforts to identify new product opportunities and improve existing offerings. Foster a culture of innovation within the organization by staying at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies. Manage the R&D group manager and the Product Manager.

Provide strong technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the development team, encouraging best practices, continuous learning, and professional growth.

Define and maintain the technical architecture of software products, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability of the solutions, applying expertise of Microsoft SharePoint, Office 365 (Microsoft 365), and Azure cloud services. Participate in complex client demos.

Manage all QA activities, product release process, publishing, versioning and maintenance of internal code and version changes. Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes to guarantee the reliability and stability of the software products.

Collaborate with strategic partners, technology vendors, and industry experts to enhance product capabilities and identify potential areas for collaboration. Collaborate on the development and maintenance of the Product Roadmap and the product portfolio.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data security and privacy in all products and services applying knowledge of compliance, security, and data protection regulations in the software industry.

Work closely with the executive team to set and manage the technology budget and allocate resources effectively to achieve business goals. Work with the team to meet revenue and pretax profit targets on annual, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new market opportunities and potential areas for growth.

Grow the product team according to the collective hiring plan. Coach and train junior team members.

Build tooling for projects using TypeScript, Webpack and other build tools.

Oversee DevOps zero-downtime continuous deployment to support dev, test and production releases.

Use a variety of other technologies and tools including TypeScript, C#, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET, NodeJS, REST services (build and consume), JSON, Azure functions + durable azure function orchestration, Geo-redundant zero down time services, KnockoutJS, ReactJS, FluetUI, REST APIs, SPFx development, SharePoint FTC, SharePoint Hosted Apps, SharePoint provider hosted apps, Azure multi-tenant hosted apps, MSAL, ADAL, ACS authentication with SSO, Git, and NPM.

Minimum requirements include 4 years of experience in a senior-level technology role including designing collaboration solutions for SharePoint and Microsoft 365, and complex custom cloud-based solutions for customers; designing cloud architecture for delivering geo-redundant secure applications implementing, monitoring, and maintaining scalable applications in Azure services; overseeing product development lifecycle from concept to launch; leading R&D efforts; and managing technical teams. The job is based out of Appficiency's headquarters in Littleton, CO but the employee may work remotely from anywhere in U.S. Compensation: $135,000 to $170,000 annual salary plus medical, dental, vision, HSA, 401K, PTO, life & disability insurance, and eligibility for variable bonus royalty program.
