You will join LONG s Accounting team as a Controller and will be responsible for accurate accounting and organizing accounting processes within our team. You will learn and assist our team in all things accounting including Month End Close, Financial Review and Accounts Payable. We are seeking a skilled Controller to oversee the financial operations of our HVAC equipment and contracting company. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic guidance to support business growth. This position requires strong leadership abilities, financial acumen, and experience in working with unionized labor environments.

Compensation Range: $130,000-$150,000 plus potential profit share.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks may be assigned as required. Financial Management: * Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. * Monitor cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, and financial transactions to ensure accuracy and efficiency. * Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. * Month End Close Routines and Reconciliation of Various Balance Sheet Accounts. * Review Monthly Financial Statements and Job Cost and Status Reports

Compliance and Risk Management: * Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and financial standards. * Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks. * Coordinate audits and examinations, providing necessary documentation and support.

Strategic Planning and Decision Support: * Collaborate with senior management to develop strategic plans and financial objectives. * Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making processes. * Evaluate investment opportunities, cost-saving initiatives, and business expansion plans.

Team Leadership and Development: * Lead the finance team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth. * Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department. * Be an accounting resource for those on the accounting team, operations and management. * Assist with testing, documenting, and implementing during pending ERP Implementation and future phases. * Assist in the Development and Documentation of Procedures. * Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred. * Proven experience 5-7 years in a senior financial management role, preferably within the HVAC industry or related field. * Strong knowledge of accounting princip es, financial analysis, and reporting standards. * Experience working with unionized labor environments and familiarity with collective bargaining agreements. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Advanced proficiency in financial software and MS Office applications. * Self-motivated and able to take ownership of projects while meeting the needs of the team. * Strong analytical thinking and ability to work independently with solutions in mind. * Must be detail oriented. Can see the outlier, mis keyed data and catch mistakes of yourself and others using a variety of tools and strategies. * Proficiency skill level with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. * Excellent time management and task prioritization. * Enjoys having a variety of focuses.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Proficiency with Microsoft GP Dynamics, UKG and/or other Accounting Software
