This role will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.Check out this video! We Are RoushAs an Automotive Mechanic / Technician, you will be responsible for:Maintaining vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspectionsRepairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and componentsReading, interpreting, and following service proceduresMaintaining vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair ordersKeeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairsParticipating in daily shop organization and clean-upTo be considered as an Automotive Mechanic / Technician, you will need:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 4 years of work experience as a mechanicKnowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment.Good attention to detail and organizational skillsAble to work independently and as part of a teamHas own tools with rolling toolbox and be able to work overtime and weekendsAbility to read, comprehend, and execute written proceduresPreferred skills / qualifications:Certificate in Automotive Technology or related3 years Diesel technician experience National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)State Mechanic Certification(s)Valid driver's licenseKnowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
