Looking for Per Diem staff to work within office hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities

Provide prescribed medications according to professional standards and practices. Advise patients, families and medical and nursing staff.

  • Lead the infusion pharmacy technician team to service patients receiving specialized and infusion therapies administered in the home setting.

  • Monitor daily operations of the pharmacy department focusing on quality and efficiency while promoting safety, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Oversee monthly inventory, including recording daily deliveries, evaluate medication and supply shipments and invoices to improve inventory control and maintain budgetary compliance.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of and adhere to all medication use and Pharmacy policies and procedures.

  • Enter or verify and process medication orders into the Pharmacy information system accurately. Review a sampling of orders and/or perform a test to ensure compliance.

  • Assure that required documentation is performed and completed accurately. Interventions and ADR¿s are reported.

  • Partner with nursing, intake, sales and warehouse teams to provide excellent customer service.

  • Assure that turnaround for medication orders is completed in a timely fashion and ensure accuracy.

  • Demonstrate initiative and have the ability to provide specific instances of satisfactory completion of acceptable projects or identification of a problem, offering a possible solution to it.

  • Follow protocol and procedures for proper hand washing, gloving and gowning when working in an ISO Class 7 Clean Room before compounding any sterile admixtures to minimize touch contamination while compounding. Demonstrate strong aseptic compounding skills when working in ISO Class 7 Clean Room and in order to be in compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 Compounding Standards.

  • Maintain clinical knowledge. Obtain 30 continuing education credits per two-year licensing cycle at a minimum, and attend at least 50% of educational sessions offered by the Pharmacy Department internally.

  • Successfully complete assigned tasks in the allotted time frame.

  • Participate in on-call rotation.

  • Act as Registered Pharmacist In-Charge as needed to support ongoing operations.

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Adhere to HMH's Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

  • Lifts a minimum of 10 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 10 lbs. and stands a minimum of 8 hours a day.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy

  • Minimum of Two (2) Years Pharmacist Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree

  • Minimum of Four (4) Years Pharmacist Experience

Licenses and Certifications Required:

  • Registered Pharmacist

  • N.J. State Board of Pharmacy License
