Amazon Head of UX Design, Amazon Payments in London, United Kingdom

Description

Amazon is developing innovate payments experiences and we're looking for a data-driven, dynamic design leader to infuse design and research best practices into this growing business.

You are an experienced design leader with a passion for systems thinking, data-driven ideas, and devising creative solutions to complex customer problems. You’re looking to lead a focused team of experienced UX/VX designers, contributing to the strategic design and product direction in the payments space. You have high standards, and you know how to help your team reach them, through good process, clear direction, and achievable goals. You thrive in feedback cultures, and know when it's best to action feedback or push back.

Responsibilities:

  • Create the vision for developing, communicating, and implementing the user experience design for multiple products across platforms; follow through with the processes and tactics to implement the vision

  • Lead a team of designers to create useful, usable, and desirable products in a team environment

  • Guide teams to understand customers and their needs through market analysis, customer research, and feedback

  • Coach a team of designers to use business requirements to assist in developing use cases and high-level requirements

  • Support the design team with planning, prioritizing, and overseeing initiatives; manage projects; ensure that all designs are executed on time and at the highest quality levels; manage and scope team initiatives, set priorities, and direct the team to ensure timely delivery

  • Collaborate with senior leaders from Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering

In this role, you will lead design for experiences across the entire Payments customer journey, driving innovation for features that our customers get excited about.

You will have fluency and input in strategy, research and development while working collaboratively with key stakeholder teams across Product, Marketing, and Engineering to deliver superior experiences that exceed expectations.

We are the Amazon Payments team. Amazon Payment Products serves customers worldwide to deliver outstanding products and programs. The payment experience spans the breadth of multiple large scale products. We're an expanding, innovative team of visionaries and crafts-people who love to work hard and make history. Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in design

  • Experience leading design teams

  • Experience managing teams

  • Experience with a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, Axure, and Dreamweaver

  • Experience working cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from product management, engineering, testing, and marketing

  • Experience leading design teams in problem definition, artifact rendering, cross-functional collaboration and delivery, and user validation and measurement

  • Experience shipping innovative, successful consumer products

  • Knowledge of user experience principles and techniques

  • Demonstrated ability managing ambiguity and leading complex projects from concept (incl user research) to delivery and ongoing improvement

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with agile/scrum

  • Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process

  • Experience leading design in the financial services industry and/or for regulated products
