Aon are currently recruiting a Broker to join our team in London.

This role will work with our London based EMEA Facultative Property team and you will support Account Executives (AE’s) and senior members of the team to execute reinsurance transactions and proactively manage client and market specific placement and projects throughout the lifecycle of engagement. You will be responsible for Broking and the placement risks into the Lloyd’s and Company markets. This will include the placement of Wholesale risks from EMEA offices, mainly coming from Spain and Portugal. Aon is in the business of better decisions

What the day will look like

Working with colleagues and clients on a variety of Property facultative reinsurance business you will;

  • Negotiate terms and conditions of placement with the market

  • Ensure timely slip production, reviewing material before taking to market

  • Managing client expectations by communicating market dynamics and anticipated outcomes to client in advance of placement milestones

  • Sourcing and actively developing new revenue opportunities in conjunction with AE’s and client teams

  • Work on and provide support in developing and delivering market presentations and broking strategies.

  • Identify appropriate channels for risk placement based on clients' market security guidelines and other requirements, exerting influence on the market in order to secure the best deals

  • Provide advice to clients and colleagues on placement design, available coverage and capacity, likely pricing, potential coverage enhancements and market progress.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Language skills: English (High level) and Spanish and/or Portuguese (notably desirable)

  • Developed negotiation skills.

  • Good communication skills and comfortable managing relationships internally and externally

  • Considers the underwriter’s perspective to adapt approach.

  • Invests time and resource in Research & Development to find new products/solutions to meet clients’ needs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of appropriate reinsurance broking or underwriting experience including project and account management experience

  • Experience gained within the London Market
