Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Los Angeles, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Los Angeles, California. The role primarily involves managing all activities in the accounts payable function. The individual will be part of a team that ensures smooth financial operations within the organization. The job requires the use of various accounting software systems and a good understanding of accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Match purchase orders with invoices and enter necessary data into the accounting system.

• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders.

• Verify the accuracy of bills and invoices.

• Process expense reports and reimbursement claims.

• Reconcile accounts by investigating documentation and resolving discrepancies.

• Issue payments to vendors in collaboration with the finance team.

• Maintain accounting ledgers as necessary.

• Create and update records and databases, tracking all payment and transaction records.

• Prepare financial reports related to the accounts payable function.

• Adhere to and enforce the company's accounts payable policies and procedures.

• Utilize accounting software systems like Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions and data entry.

• Handle check processing and discrepancy resolution. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.

• Proficient in Accounting Software Systems.

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) is required.

• Experience with IBM AS/400 is a plus.

• Should have working knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

• Must have a thorough understanding of Accounting Functions.

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is required.

• Ability to carry out Check Processing tasks efficiently.

• Proficiency in Data Entry is necessary.

• Must have the ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies in financial records.

• Should be able to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive financial information.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
