Cedars-Sinai Credentials Coordinator I in Los Angeles, California

Under the direction of the Credentialing Logistics and Information Manager, the incumbent is responsible for conduct of credentialing activities associated with application management. The Credentials Coordinator I (Intake) is responsible for pre-screening initial applicants and for all tasks associated with application management for both initial applicants, and applicants for renewal, including timely receipt of applications that meet established specifications. Responsible for data entry or import of application content in conformance with departmental data management expectations.

The Credentials Coordinator I works cooperatively with the Credentials Coordinator II (Verification) and Credentials Analysts to ensure the seamless and timely flow of application related information in order to meet initial and renewal applicant deadlines and qualitative requirements. The incumbent must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions, and underlying management structure of the Department and of the larger Health System in organizing and prioritizing work, establishing procedures and systems, and ensuring the orderly and timely flow of business.

  • High School Diploma/GED required. 2 years of college coursework preferred

  • 1-2 years experience in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Licenses: Certification or eligibility for Certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) as a Certified Medical Staff Coordinator (CMSC) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is highly preferred within 2 years of initial hire date.


  • Proficiency in software applications to include use of menu driven, word processing and spreadsheet applications. Extensive experience in Microsoft Word. Ability to word process at a minimum of 60 WPM.

  • Proven track record in an environment that requires accurate and consistent management of detailed data elements and management of discrete tasks to meet specific deadlines.

Physical Demands:

  • Routine office environment with prolonged sitting, telephone use, typing, and keyboarding.

  • Able to travel to various locations on campus to meet with other personnel as needed.
