ENGINEER I (Entry-Level or Early Career), with Airport Infrastructure Interest
Part-time (Schedule within 20 -40 hrs. per week. Monday thru Friday workweek), Regular Position
NOTE: This is a Los Angeles, California based position. LENAX Does Not Pay for Relocation or Travel Expenses for Interviews or if selected for a position. Candidates selected to move forward in the interview process must be available to interview within 24-48 hours’ notification. This is not a fully-remote position. A “hybrid” schedule is available upon approval. Candidates selected to move forward in the process must be able to report to the project site(s) located within L. A. County. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U. S. for any employer. At present, sponsorships are not available.

POSITION OVERVIEW
LENAX is looking for an entry-level or early-career engineer join a team of 40+ planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals, to plan and design the next “wave” of capital investments for a large-scale airport CIP program, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements and more!
KEY IDENTIFIERS FOR THIS POSITION
Strong credentials & experience with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), such as preparing single-line diagrams, floor-plans, and other drawings to reflect existing & proposed conditions (electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, etc.)
Some experience & knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Building Information Modeling (BIM), and other spatial-data systems
Some experience & knowledge of building systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills in a collaborative setting
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Work alongside a multi-disciplined team of planners, architects, engineers, construction managers, property managers, and other professionals in a collaborative environment.
Perform records-research, field investigations, and stakeholder outreach to verify and document existing conditions.
Develop high-quality maps, diagrams, drawings, renderings, and other work-products to support the planning, design, operations, and maintenance of airport facilities.
Develop tools, templates, and standards to innovate and improve our processes.
Other job-related duties or projects as assigned.
POSITION’S “PREFERRED” QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, and/or related field
Professional Certifications in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) are highly desirable
Experience with Autodesk (CAD, Revit, etc.) and/or similar software is highly desirable.
Work Location:
The position will report to the designated Los Angeles area project offices. (Reporting location and instructions will be provided upon hire.)
Telework Option:
Telework is available, but is not guaranteed. It is at the discretion of the Owner/Client and Department leadership. Note: This is not a fully-remote position. Telework, if afforded, is offered as a benefit, and is not required. For those who are authorized to telework, it is assumed that they have the necessary workstation items available to them at home. A complete workstation is provided, at the office, only.
Position Status / Compensation:
This is a part-time, regular, “Non-Exempt” (aka “Hourly”) position, with Lenax Construction Services, Inc. as the employer, and performing consultative services, as an Engineer I, at the Owner/Client’s worksite. The client stated that hours available could be 20 – 40/week. We anticipate they will arrange a set schedule, depending upon the candidate’s availability.
The compensation for this position is $45/hr. The assigned rate will be based upon meeting position specifications for experience, directly applicable experience, industry experience, skills, education, and other certifications, licensure and training.
