About the Position:

The Maintenance Technician I oversee the general upkeep of the overall Amity campus infrastructure to preserve the physical integrity of the environment. This role is responsible for maintaining building and grounds operations to ensure that Amity campuses are safe and functional at all times. Maintenance Technicians perform basic repairs, and inspections along with performing aesthetic maintenance on the campus grounds. This position manages routine maintenance and emergency repairs to prevent and resolve safety or comfort issues.

 

  • What You Will Do:

  •  

  • Performs maintenance and repairs such as minor fixes, such as repairing broken equipment, damage to walls, etc.

  • Installs necessary equipment as needed.

  • Complete regular maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, etc.

  • Maintain grounds, including garden and yard upkeep, trimming, edging, mowing lawn, collecting trash, etc.

  • Inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems.

  • Test and report the functionality of the campus safety systems.

  • Carries out monthly and annual preventative maintenance programs.

  • Report to facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.

  • Responsible for picking up all materials and supplies for property.

  • Collaborate with a team of workers and other professionals during renovations and campus expansions.

  • Supervises and trains residents, students, or volunteers assigned to maintenance duties.

  • Participates in department and company meeting, as appropriate to position.

  • Other duties as needed. \

  • What You Will Bring:

  • Knowledge of general repair and maintenance.

  • Willingness to learn and participate in retreats and workshops as required.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.

  • Maintain social, ethical and organizational values and norms; building trust and confidence with the faculty and with the students; respecting confidentiality.

  • Applies high performance standards to all work related activities.

  • Driver License preferred not required
