Otak, Inc. Business Unit Leader Of Transportation in Louisville, Colorado

Otak is currently recruiting for the position of Business Unit Leader of Transportation to join our expanding team in Louisville, Colorado. As a senior-level manager, you will oversee operations, drive client business development, and lead multi-disciplinary transportation projects and teams. This role involves managing a diverse range of transportation projects in the region, including municipal roadway, grading, drainage, utility, and transit projects for both existing and new public clients. The ideal candidate will have established client relationships, excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and experience developing and supporting staff. What you'll do:

Provide managerial guidance on a regional level, inspiring the team to ensure that the firm's vision and mission are achieved by setting appropriate milestones and benchmarks. In collaboration with the Transportation Practice Area Leader and Regional Director prepare annual business plans and monitor progress through the year. Partner with Pursuit Managers and Marketing Managers to prepare winning professional proposals and actively participate in interview preparation and go/no-go decision meetings. Oversee business unit personnel in the region in accordance with Otak's policies and procedures. Develop and maintain client relationships. Participate in business development activities including client meetings and preparation of proposals. Oversee design services related to roadway, grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control in conformance with local, state and federal regulations, for a variety of public local agencies. Oversee preparation of specifications and cost estimates. Plan and coordinate projects with limited supervision. Assist in assigning duties and schedules to team member. Prepare project scope, schedule, and budget. Provide construction support services. Mentor internal team staff and support the growth of younger engineers. Take active role in quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) program. What you bring:

Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, professional, team environment. Minimum of 15 years preferred experience as a Civil Engineer, with an emphasis on transportation, public infrastructure, drainage, utilities and civic projects for DOTs and municipal clients. Bachelor's in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent education is required. Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing is required. Demonstrated significant previous experience in the management of personnel, project budgets, and team financials. Experience in the review and negotiation of agreements and contracts. A customer-oriented seller-doer who understands how to sell Otak's services, grow the business and deliver high quality work. Demonstrated experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD/Civil 3D. The salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and work location as well as market and business considerations.

Salary Range: $145,000-$195,000 per year
