Overview
The Senior Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting for Home Health and Hospice. The position will assist in the review of all policies and procedures for Home Health and Hospice, manage internal and external audits and review process to mitigate risk and ensure effective internal controls are in place in a growing company.
Responsibilities
Reviews all policies and procedures for Home Health and Hospice and update when needed
Manages all internal and external auditor requests for documentation
Performs account reconciliations and trend analysis for all assigned accounts
Works with Senior Management to ensure adequate reserves are applied to outstanding A/R balances
Monitors compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company procedures
Generates necessary reports and participates in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger close
Provides support and leadership to the staff accountants, which includes the review and posting of their journal entries
Assists in special projects, as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Two to three years accounting experience, ideally with Accounting Firm or public/large private company
CPA preferred
Computer literacy, including Excel, Word, Access, and related accounting systems. Oracle Fusion preferred
Knowledge of General Accounting Principles
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
Knowledge of current industry trends, standards, and practices
Exercises independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work according to applicable regulations, company policies and procedures
Ability to utilize new tools and technologies in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to multi-task
Ability to provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of constant deadlines
Strong customer service orientation
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
