Abbott Supply Planner in Machelen, Belgium

The Opportunity:

The Supply Planner will be based out of our European Distribution Center in Machelen, Belgium.

In this role, you will ensure the best product availability, while minimizing distressed inventory costs and optimizing inventory levels.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute replenishment of products from manufacturing sites and external vendors to maximize the level of service towards internal and external customers

  • Monitor open orders and back orders and take corrective actions

  • Reduce distressed inventory and report on results to Finance

  • Participate in the S&OP process with Demand Planning, Marketing and Finance

  • Monitor portfolio changes and establish a proper phase in / phase out process

  • Maintain end to end Supply Chain system updated in terms of master data and inventory targets

  • Maintaining the inventory targets and reviewing inventory levels at 3PLs

  • Analyze levels of inventory in the distribution center and in the field, provide feedback to Finance and submit appropriate forecast

  • Identify and deploy process improvements (continuous improvement) to increase the productivity or cost-efficiency without jeopardizing quality compliance and service level

  • Support best practices to other team members

Qualifications:

  • University degree, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in in the healthcare industry

  • Detailed knowledge of a major ERP system (SAP preferred)

  • Proficient knowledge of excel, experience in reporting tools as Business Objects is a strong asset

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken, other languages are an asset

  • Experience with Lean tools and methodology is an asset

  • Team player and customer oriented

  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills

  • Flexibility, including work time schedules and travel
