Associate Consultant – Equity Valuation

What the day will look like

  • Support colleagues on valuation projects, analyses, and other needs of clients

  • Build forecasting models (e.g., Monte Carlo simulations) to estimate the fair value of equity-based compensation within a risk neutral framework

  • Apply financial models (e.g., Black-Scholes model) to other types of securities

  • Model the potential financial accounting impact of alternative equity plans and programs to assist clients in maximizing the perceived value received by participants

  • Prepare reports, exhibits, summaries, presentations, and recommendations for client deliverables

  • Manage the deliverable schedules to clients to ensure timely completion

  • Assist in various ad hoc projects

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus in Statistics or Mathematics, Finance, Economics. Other majors will also be considered.

  • 0 – 2 years of experience in a data analysis, financial modeling, or an actuarial role

  • Having industry certification (e.g., Actuarial exams, CCP, CECP, or CEP) is a definite advantage

  • Superior listening skills, the ability to develop insightful questions, and identify and implement the appropriate strategy to successfully address the client’s issues

  • Ability to learn and absorb concepts quickly and independently

  • Flexibility to work in situations where there is no unique right answer

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VBA a plus), PowerPoint, and Word

  • Experience in basic programming, particularly in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, for interactions with clients and colleagues

  • Ability to collaborate well with colleagues in other offices in a fast-paced, team environment

  • Strong foundation working with various equity instruments and equity valuation is preferred

  • Working knowledge of statistical methods, data analysis and presentation, and creative problem solving
