Within our Institutional Investor Group (IIG), we provide institutional clients, plan sponsors, and participants with recordkeeping, investment, and advice services, largely in defined contribution plans such as 401(k)s. Our mission is to give participants in these plans the best chance for retirement success. We are operating as one team to deliver the best that Vanguard has to offer across full service, investments, advice, and products—to all clients, across all channels. As an ERISA Consultant, you will play an integral role in the success of this mission.

In this role, you will:

• Act as a consultant for internal partners and clients. Provide guidance regarding regulatory and legislative trends and the corresponding impact on clients and operations.

• Advise on the latest regulatory changes and communicates changes to crew, clients, and senior management. Maintain strong knowledge of retirement plans and related regulatory issues. Maintain awareness of the competitive environment.

• Assess retirement plan administration and compliance related risk areas and identify opportunities to mitigate risks.

• Research client issues and recommend solutions.

• Utilize plan data and analytics to drive optimum plan design and participant outcomes.

• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

​ What it takes

• Five years of experience providing ERISA consulting advice required.

• Strong communication skills, and a proven ability to influence and persuade required.

• Experience in a legal or consulting environment preferred.

• An ability to utilize data and analytics preferred.

• Experience with 403(b) plans preferred.

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
