AristaCare Driver (Part Time) in Manchester Township, New Jersey

Manchester Pediatric Medical Day Care is looking for PART TIME DRIVER to work 2 days per week. $12/hour - Hours from 5:30am-5:00pm.

MAVT/MAVO certificate required (facility may send for training).

DRIVER/ ROOM ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

The driver/room assistant provides transportation services for the children of Manchester Pediatric Medical Day Care. The driver’s responsibilities is picking up and dropping off children attending Manchester Medical Day Care. They will also transport children when necessary for the class trips and activities. The driver will also function as a room assistant when not transporting children. The driver is responsible for the safety and well-being of the children during their transport. The driver/room assistant will comply with all state, local and company policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DRIVING:

  • Be familiar with driving standards as required by NJMVC and always drive in a safe and responsible manner.

  • Project a professional image and attitude when interacting with clients, the public and fellow employees.

  • Provide assistance for children during pickup and drop-off in and out of vehicle.

  • Wear seatbelt at all times when operating vehicle and ensure compliance of passengers

  • Ensure wheelchairs and child restraints are properly secured in the vehicle.

  • Immediately advice the Administrator of any medical or non- medical emergencies or incidents involving passengers and follow-up with Administrator after the emergency/incident has been managed.

  • Be familiar with safe lifting and moving techniques and be fit foe the performance of job duties.

  • Be familiar with proper use of all vehicle safety equipment.

  • Be responsible for all equipment and inspect and report any issues with equipment.

  • Be familiar with all company and appropriate facility forms related driver and aides and fill out properly

  • Comply with uniform requirements and personal appearance policies.

  • Having knowledge of communications devices including cell phones which will enable communication with families, staff and facilities.

  •  Be familiar and comply with the rules of the facility especially the no smoking on the premises policy.

  • Assume responsibility for cleanliness of the vehicle daily. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection.

  • Be able to navigate to various destinations using GPS.

  • Inspect and report any damage or malfunction of the vehicle and check all fluid.

  • Maintain order on the vehicle.

  • Ensure that minors are left with approved guardians.

  • Will personally perform a through visual double check of the entire vehicle to ensure that no child is left on the vehicle.

AIDE:

  • Assist with diaper changing/toileting.

  • Assist with meal preparation (platting and serving food) and feeding children.

  • Participate and assist with after meal clean up

  • Participate and assist in program activities

  • Participate in maintaining safety of the children in classroom and play areas.

  • Participate in maintaining cleanliness of environment.

  • Serve as 1:1 for children requiring direct supervision.

  • Perform all other duties required

It is that expectation that the Room Assistant will maintain the confidentiality of all the children’s information. All the children will be treated fairly, with dignity, kindness and respect. Present a positive professional image of the facility to families and community. Be honest open and direct to fellow workers while expressing your views constructively. Report all grievances and complaints made by parents and guardians to Administration.

Working Conditions:

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves while working throughout the facility or the possible evacuation of children.

  • Will be subject for frequent interruptions, by hostile and emotionally upset children, personnel visitors, government agencies.

  • Is subject to odors, may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, including the potential exposure to AIDS and hepatitis B virus.

Personal, Interpersonal Communication Requirements:

  • Must be able to read write and speak English in an understandable manner.

  • Must be able to relate information regarding the child’s condition.

  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the unit and staff.

  • Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively and tactfully with children, personnel, visitors and general public

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR a must. Pediatric experience preferred, if no experience you will be responsible for completing education regarding pediatric growth and development and information on children with special needs.

  • Reports to Administrator and Director of Nursing, alternates if applicable. The Director of Activities will assist in job performance evaluation by giving input to the Director of Nursing / Administrator regarding compliance with activities assigned in room.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • CPR, Valid NJ Driver’s License in good standing (abstract), MAVT (as required for vehicle).
