DESCRIPTION OF WORK This is an entry level Caseworker position that allows for growth in the field of social work with children and families. Caseworkers are responsible for the receipt of reports of child abuse and neglect and investigation of the same.  The Caseworker will provide in home case management services for those children & families accepted for services under the supervision and guidance of the Casework Supervisor.  Caseworkers will participate in court functions to include placement services and adoption of children.  You will be provided with extensive training through the PA Child Welfare Resource Center, as well as in house training regarding the rules and regulations that govern the agency.

Caseworkers are responsible for timely data entry into the case management system and case files.  This position is required to participate in a mandatory on-call rotation with support and supervision provided by agency.

Employees will have the ability to earn longevity incentives, as well as the opportunity to participate in tuition reimbursement program opportunities through the County for ongoing education.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. On call rotation schedule is required. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
