Senior Associate, Responsible Disclosure

As a Senior Associate for the Responsible Disclosure team, you will play an integral role in protecting our customers, our associates, and our brand. Capital One’s Responsible Disclosure team manages internal and external responsible disclosure programs to help identify, track, and remediate vulnerabilities. You will be the first line of defense for these threats, performing initial triage and working with outside vendors as well as internal partners to neutralize threats and remediate issues. You will also help mature the program by identifying and analyzing vulnerabilities and trends and communicating that information in a meaningful way with partners, stakeholders, and leadership.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct initial assessment and analysis of vulnerabilities to gauge validity and severity

  • Coordinate remediation of reported vulnerability and bugs

  • Partner with external vendors and internal stakeholders and leadership to identify and close gaps in coverage and shorten remediation times

  • Manage relationships with third party vendors

  • Build and manage relationships with internal Capital One stakeholders, to include working with app teams to identify and prioritize known vulnerabilities or issues

  • Design and execute processes, reporting, and communication tools

  • Perform trend analysis and help develop a communication strategy to share analysis with relevant stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification

  • At least 3 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in information security or cybersecurity

  • Experience using BurpSuite or other pentesting tools

  • Security certifications (Security+, CISSP, SANS GIAC, CISA/CISM, CCSP, OSCP )

  • 1+ years of experience with AWS

  • 1+ years of experience with cybersecurity frameworks

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $138,500 - $158,100 for Sr. Assoc, Cyber Technical

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
