Description

Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an Interim Controller that will play a pivotal role in managing the monthly close activities for a large division of our public company. The Interim Controller will lead a team of 5 professionals and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting processes. This role will allow the incumbent leader to focus on the upcoming ERP implementation while maintaining operational efficiency in the finance department.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the monthly financial close process for the division, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

• Lead and mentor a team of 5 finance professionals, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.

• Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

• Support external audit processes and manage audit inquiries.

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of financial operations.

• Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA designation preferred.

• Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a senior accounting or finance role, with demonstrated experience in managing monthly close activities.

• Prior experience managing a team of finance professionals.

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Experience with ERP systems, preferably during implementation or upgrade phases.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
