Position Overview

TRAX USA Corp, a leading aviation software company, is seeking an experienced and visionary Cybersecurity Manager to establish and build its cybersecurity department. The Cybersecurity Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies, as well as building and overseeing a team of cybersecurity analysts, and ensuring the organization's critical systems, intellectual property, and data are protected from cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess outstanding change management capabilities

  • Develop and lead the implementation of a robust cybersecurity program, including policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard the company's assets and maintain regulatory compliance.

  • Develop effective, cross-departmental investigation and response capabilities facilitated by peers across the organization.

  • Recruit and manage a team of cybersecurity analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure the team's effectiveness in monitoring, investigating, and mitigating security incidents.

  • Establish and maintain accountability for security performance metrics and regularly report.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including database, help desk, QA, and programming departments, to identify and address security vulnerabilities across the organization.

  • Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of security technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), security information and event management (SIEM) tools, cloud security solutions as well as secure code scanning tools.

  • Knowledge of industry adopted frameworks and methodologies (MITRE ATT&CK, CIS, NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, etc.)

  • Lead, expand, and modernize Vulnerability Management program and Attack Surface Reduction.

  • Lead the Security Operations Center team to develop, and support, follow-the-sun incident response capabilities.

  • Establish policies and develop procedures for all aspects of security operations, focusing on threat modeling, threat hunting, digital forensics and incident response

  • Conduct risk assessments, threat analyses, and vulnerability assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks.

  • Conduct forensics analysis on artifacts collected during incident response.

  • Hunt for incidents and identify environment-specific indicators of compromise and lead the continuous improvement of the incident response program.

  • Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans to ensure the organization's ability to effectively respond to and recover from security incidents.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends, regulations, and industry best practices, and make recommendations for continuous improvement of the company's security posture.

  • Assist in the development of processes and test results to obtain company security certifications (e.g., CMMC, SOC2, ISO 27001, ISO 9001), demonstrating proper protection of customer data.

  • Represent the cybersecurity department and serve as a subject matter expert, communicating security-related information to senior management, our CISO, and our stakeholders.

  • Infuse a mindset of security in our company culture.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, STEM or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are preferred.

  • At least 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a proven track record of leading and managing a security team.

  • Demonstrated leadership managing teams or leading projects.

  • Experienced in managing insourced, outsourced, and mixed model cybersecurity operations and hybrid work schedules.

  • Thorough understanding of computer programming, risk management, and computer-related security systems, including firewalls, password protection, authentication, and physical access controls.

  • Demonstrated passion for field through events, education, research, etc.

  • Must be able to obtain or already possess Government clearance for FedRAMP/ITAR systems access.

  • Deep, hands-on expertise with a range of open source and proprietary security tooling and practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills to identify and mitigate complex security threats.

  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present security-related information to stakeholders as a thoughtful leader.

  • Willingness to work after hours or on weekends, and be available 24/7/365 for any security emergencies.

  • Domestic and international travel may be required. Must possess a valid passport.

  • Strategic thinking, organizational, and project management capabilities.
